...she is gone.
On Friday, January 23 Mark's sister was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. On Friday, January 30 she died. Paula leaves behind a husband, 10 year old son, 8 year old son, parents, 5 brothers and sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Her immediate family was able to spend her last few days at her bedside. My husband traveled through ice and snow to get to the airport not knowing if he would arrive in California in time to say goodbye to his sister. Thankfully, he did. He was able to spend about 36 hours with her and she knew he was there.
One week.
If we had the knowledge we had one week to live would we live differently?
So many thoughts and emotions are swirling around in my head.
Rest in peace Paula. We will honor your life by loving your sons and making sure they realize what an incredible mother they had.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your sister-in-law. Praying for you all.
Angie
Aimee,
I am heartbroken for you all. As one of six, I simply can't imagine one of us not there. We will cover her boys in prayer and her husband.
As you know, my heart is all-too familiar with the swirl of emotions you are wading through. Paula makes the fourth unexpected and/or sudden death I have experienced since December 6. I am praying for you all with a deep sense of sympathy in the true sense of the word (suffering with). I love you guys.
