OH.NO.SHE.DIDN'T.

Yeah...she did.

Ana Lucia cut her hair this morning. Was it a snippet in the back? NO. Was it a small piece underneath? NO. It was right on the side. By her cheek. GRRRRRRRRRRR.

We have been talking about getting her first haircut. I talked to a friend last night who said she would cut it. Ana Lucia's hair is half way down her back. She has never had a real haircut. I guess she heard the conversations and decided to take matters in her own hands...or scissors.

The more I look at it the more I decide you can't really tell.

Yet another milestone of childhood accomplished.

And that is all I have to say about this morning.

It was bound to happen! She's got spunk. I have no idea where she gets it. NOT.

It happens. I remember Jackie cut Jenny's bangs to about 1/2 inch early one morning before we were supposed to go to Kings Island. The trip was nearly cancelled!
Do you remember Chuck Chalfant cut a chunk out of his hair in front in the first grade? I still remember that! A rite of passage, I guess!

Holly - it is fun watching the whole "nature vs. nurture" idea play out with both adopted and biological children.

Yeah, she's got spunk. I'm pretty sure she gets it both genetically and her environment! We have a picture of a bio sister standing with her hands on her hips looking like she is giving someone the business...

Joel, there must be something to the pre-Kings-Island-cutting-hair thing. My sister also cut her hair once the day before going to KI. I had to curl it to make it somewhat presentable. Of course I knew as soon as she rode the first ride her hair would stand straight up. Remember that Holly?

I do not remember Chuck cutting his hair in first grade. You have a remarkable memory. I'm lucky to remember that Laura Sue Shaw was my first grade teacher and Debbie Toney was our teacher's aide. She was a high school student and wore the most divine go-go boots!

I must have made an impression on Ana Lucia yesterday in my reaction to her hair cutting decision. She came up to me several times yesterday and again first thing this morning saying "Mama, I'm sorry I cut my hair. Only OTHER people cut our hair."

Don't forget it sister...
