Glimpses of Guatemala

Guatemala is a part of me. Not just because three of my children are Guatemalan. Not just because I fell in love during my first visit in March 2002. Not just because it is a beautiful country. Not just because the people are enchanting. Not just because I am totally intrigued by a culture of content people who have so little and face so much difficulty. Guatemala is an integral part of my family, my purpose for serving, and so much more.

My grandmother traveled to Guatemala in the early 1970's. I remember her arriving home bringing goodies for the grandchildren and lots of interesting stories. Little did I know at that time that Guatemala would become an important part of my life as an adult. I'm simply thankful. Thankful for my time spent there, relationships established, and the opportunity that lies ahead for our family's involvement.

I have many stories from my recent trip. While I haven't quite processed some of the adventures yet, I would love to simply share some photos. Allow them to speak to you. The people and places of Guatemala...
